Frank Clement (racing driver)

Frank Clement (* June 15, 1888, † February 15, 1970 in Northumberland ), was a British racing driver.

Frank Clement was a test driver for Bentley, as the company owner Walter Bentley asked him, as a team partner of John Duff in 1923 to go in the 24 - hour race at Le Mans. Duff put a Bentley 3 Litre Sports and one was actively supported by the factory. The race ended the duo in fourth place overall. A year later, the biggest success of Clement followed in motorsport, when he again won the 24 -hour race together with Duff.

As Bentley one year later came as a factory team to Le Mans, the Briton was one of the legendary Bentley Boys. Until the withdrawal of Bentley 1930, he was every year at the Sarthe circuit at the start. After several failures he reached in 1929 with the fourth and 1930 with the second overall again two top rankings in this endurance race.
