Frank de Boer

Frank de Boer ( born May 15, 1970 in Hoorn ) is a former Dutch football player. His ten minutes older twin brother Ronald de Boer is also a well-known football player and played the majority of his career in the same team. Frank de Boer was a defender, but also due to its good passes and free kicks. Since December 2010 he has been head coach of the Dutch Eredivisie AFC Ajax from Amsterdam Club.

Career

In the club

His career began in 1988 at AFC Ajax in Amsterdam, where he was already active as a youth player. At first, he played at left-back, before he moved later into central defense. He was part of the legendary Ajax team that won the 1995 Champions League, and he also was several times Dutch champion and cup winner. By January 1999 he played - along with his twin brother Ronald - at Ajax before he moved to FC Barcelona with his brother. The Dutch coach Louis van Gaal in 1999 he was with FC Barcelona Spanish masters. Thereafter, however, he could not build on its previous successes.

He also was tested in April 2001 after the UEFA Cup match against Celta Vigo positive for nandrolone. Coach

Since 2007 he has worked as a trainer in the Ajax youth and as an assistant coach of the Netherlands. On 6 December 2010 put Ajax Amsterdam Frank de Boer as a head coach until the winter break of 2010, as manager Martin Jol left the club. During the winter break, he signed a contract until 2014. The " side job " with the national team, he chose to give up.
