Frank E. Peretti

Frank E. Peretti ( born January 13, 1951 in Lethbridge, Alberta) is an American writer.

Life

He was born the son of a pastor. His father led a congregation of the Church of the Assemblies of God ( a Pentecostal church ). Frank was so marked from the beginning by a pious education. He told in his childhood happy even invented stories. After he finished school in 1968, he first joined a music group and took part in studio recordings. In the late 70s he enrolled at a university for English, film and theater studies. Disappointed by his time in Hollywood in 1978, he returned back to Washington and supported to 1983 his father at work in the parish. Thereupon he worked in a ski factory and lived in a caravan ( trailer ). During this time he wrote his first novel, This Present Darkness ( The darkness of this world). The book had in the U.S. initially quite teething problems, but after some well-known artists discovered the novel and thus publicizing started in the U.S. a veritable " Peretti -Mania ". Since the publication of his second book Piercing the Darkness ( light in the darkness ), he has become quite facing the writing and lives with his wife Barb retired in the northwestern United States.

Work

Peretti writes mostly heavily Christian-influenced thriller with partial fantasy impact. We are especially famous darkness his novels and his youth book series, the Cooper series.
