Frank Farina
Frank Farina ( born September 5, 1964 in Darwin) is an Australian football coach and former football player.
In his career as a football player he was in Australia, Belgium, France and Italy active ( in the AS Bari).
For the Australian national football Frank Farina graduated 1984-1995 37 A- international matches in which he scored ten goals. After seven years as a professional in Europe, he moved back to his home in 1995 and took over the Brisbane Strikers as player-coach. In 1997 he became coach of the year in Australia.
On August 13, 1999, he was national coach. With his team, he failed to qualify for the Football World Cup 2002 in Japan and Korea, while his contract was extended. Since all players in Europe make their money at different clubs, mainly in the English Premier League with a few exceptions, Farina moved in 2005 from Australia to the UK capital London. On 29 June 2005, he resigned from his position as national coach back.
From 15 November 2006 to mid-October 2009, he coached Queensland Roar (since 2009 Brisbane Roar ). After he had noticed repeatedly for drunk driving, he was summarily dismissed. In the years 2011 and 2012, he supervised several times the Papua New Guinea national football team, as a coach. End of November 2012 he was introduced as the successor to Ian Crook as coach of Sydney FC.
