Frank Fitzsimmons

Frank Fitzsimmons ( born August 7, 1907 † 6 May 1981) was until his death president of the Transport Workers Union International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Biography

Fitzsimmons was first Vice President of the " Teamsters " under Jimmy Hoffa and thus Deputy President, when he was imprisoned in 1967.

He was a good friend of Richard Nixon, who in 1968 became U.S. president, and is said to have organized with the help of the Cosa Nostra a million donation for his campaign.

Hoffa was actually appointed on the basis of his conviction to 13 years imprisonment by the Teamsters as " president for life ", but as he was in 1971 dismissed by Nixon prematurely from prison, this was done only on the condition to resign and ten years long not to strive again.
