Frank Greiner

Frank Greiner ( born July 3, 1966 in Coburg ) is a former German football player and coach.

Career

Frank Greiner played in sixteen years professional football almost exclusively in the first Bundesliga. Only with the 1st FC Kaiserslautern, he played one season in the Bundesliga 2, but immediately rose again. Frank Greiner was almost always a regular in his respective club. Until 1988, he played at the 1st FC Nuremberg. From there he moved to the first FC Cologne. There he made ​​his breakthrough to regular players and performers. Unforgettable is the head butt, which he by Altin Rraklli in February 1994 had to tolerate. After seven years he left there in 1995 towards Palatinate 1 FC Kaiserslautern. In 1997 he moved to VfL Wolfsburg, where he ended his active career in 2003.

From 2006 to 2008 he was an assistant coach at Lower division MTV Gifhorn, in which he temporarily because of a personal emergency situation his comeback as a player.

In January 2013 he took his former players from Wolfsburg times, Dorinel Munteanu, as assistant coach to the Russian first division Mordowia Saransk. Since February 2014 he has been with the football school of VfL Wolfsburg.
