Frank Jeske

Frank Jeske ( born February 6, 1960 in Wustrau; † 27 August 1994 Bückwitz ) was a German football player.

He began his career in his home town, then later played in the BSG Neuruppin electronics and steel Hennig village before he came in 1982 to Stahl Brandenburg. Here he was known far and DDR to a scorer DDR Oberliga. For the Brandenburg he scored 95 goals in 229 official matches, making it to this day - behind Lars Posorski - the second top scorer in club history.

He was called several times in the Olympic team. His greatest success with the club, he reached with the qualification for the UEFA Cup in 1986, where he was among the scorers. His career trailed off in the 1990s with black and red Neustadt / Dosse. On the way back from a game he was killed in a traffic accident, the driver of the car in which sat Jeske caused fatal. He left behind a wife and two sons. Since 2004, the sports ground of his home town Wustrau bears his name.

Internationally

In the 1986/87 season he played with the Brandenburgern three UEFA Cup matches against Coleraine FC and IFK Gothenburg. Here, with the 1-0 win over Northern Ireland, he scored the winning goal to progress into the second round.
