Frank Loomis
Frank Loomis ( born August 22, 1896 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, † April 4, 1971 in Tarpon Springs, Florida) was an American track and field athlete and Olympic champion.
At the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp Frank Loomis won the 400 - meter hurdles. With his winning time of 54.0 seconds, he undercut the twelve -year-old world record of Charles Bacon by one second. The behind him placed John Norton, August Desch (both USA) and the Frenchman Géo André remained under the old world record.
