Frank Otto

Frank Otto ( born February 10, 1958 in Berlin ) is a former German water polo player.

Frank Otto played until 1984 for water Spandau 04 From 1979 to 1984, he won six times in a row, the German Championship, where he top scorer of the water polo league was in every season. In addition, he was with five Cup victories there. In 1982, he won the European Champions Cup. After Otto Frank joined the first German water polo player in the Italian professional league for Rari Nantes Camogli. After three years he returned to Germany and then played at Cannstatt.

From 1977 to 1992, the left-hander was on the half right back position to the German water polo national team. With 467 caps he is in 2012 still most-capped player. With the World Swimming Championships in 1978 in his hometown of Berlin Otto Frank took with the German team to sixth place. Four years later, in Guayaquil, the German team won bronze. The year before, the German water polo player had won the title at the European Championships in Split. After Otto Frank because of the Olympic boycott of the 1980 Olympic Games had been unable to attend, were the German water polo player at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles one of the favorites. By winning the bronze medal behind the Yugoslavs and the American hosts German water Ballern succeeded the only Olympic medal win after 1945.

1985 won the German water polo national team's World Cup and was third at the European Championships. After finishing sixth at the 1986 World Cup, the team finished fourth at the European Championships in 1987.
