Frank Riggs

Frank D. Riggs ( born September 5, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky) is an American politician. Between 1991 and 1999 he represented two times the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

After primary school, Frank Riggs served 1972-1975 in the U.S. Army. Then he studied until 1980 at the Golden Gate University in San Francisco. In addition, Riggs worked in California in the police service and in the real estate industry. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Republican Party. Between 1984 and 1988 he was a member of the board of trustees of schools of Windsor.

In the congressional elections of 1990, Riggs was the first electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Douglas H. Bosco on January 3, 1991. Since he has not been confirmed in 1992, he was initially able to do only one term in Congress until January 3, 1993. In 1994 he was again elected to Congress, where he replaced the Democrats Daniel Hamburg on January 3, 1995, which was two years before become his successor. After a re-election in 1996, he could spend in Congress until January 3, 1999, two further terms. In 1998 he gave up another candidacy.

2001 Frank Riggs moved to Arizona. In 2005, he wanted to apply there for the office of governor. Since he did not even lived in this country long enough, he qualified in accordance with the state constitution not for this post.
