Frank S. Dickson

Frank Stoddard Dickson ( born October 6, 1876 in Hillsboro, Montgomery County, Illinois, † February 24, 1953 in Washington DC ) was an American politician. Between 1905 and 1907 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Frank Dickson attended the public schools of his native land and from then until 1896, the High School in Decatur. He then worked as a teacher in Ramsey. In 1898, he took as an infantryman in the Spanish-American War. He then worked as a teacher again. At the same time struck Dickson as a member of the Republican Party a political career one. In the congressional elections of 1904, he was elected in 23 electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of Joseph B. Crowley on March 4, 1905. Since he has not been confirmed in 1906, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1907.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives was Frank Dickson 1908-1910 Assistant Adjutant General of his state. From 1910 to 1922 he commanded as adjutant general in the National Guard. Subsequently, he was finance director until 1924 the United States Shipping Board and Emergency Fleet Corporation. From 1924 to 1926 he acted as secretary to U.S. Senator Joseph Medill McCormick. After that, he was a member of the federal board of fire insurance in Chicago ( National Board of Fire Underwriters ). He died on February 24, 1953 in Washington.
