Frank Turner

Frank Turner ( born December 28, 1981 in Muharraq, Bahrain ) is a British musician.

Career

He grew up in Winchester, England, came Turner in 2001 as vocalist for punk band Million Dead, with whom he released two studio albums and several singles / EPs. In parallel, he studied under at Eton College and the London School of Economics, where he received a bachelor 's degree in European History.

Since the end of the band in 2005, Turner has worked as a solo singer- songwriter whose music has clear influences from folk rock and punk. His first album, Sleep Is for the Week was published in January 2007 in the UK and was perceived overwhelmingly positive in the local music press. His successor, Love Ire & Song was released in March 2008 and was released in the summer of 2009 as a re -release in the German language area. He scored the first major commercial success with the album released in December 2008, The First Three Years, a compilation of songs from singles and EPs from Turner's first solo years, which reached number 72 in the UK album charts. His third studio album Poetry of the Deed, was released in September 2009, reached the British charts and was able to advance to number 36 there. Later in the year a second collection of singles and B-sides called The Second Three Years was released.
