The Bahnhof Frankfurt- Louisa is a stop on the S- Bahn Rhein -Main and also a train station at kilometer 3.7 of the Main-Neckar Railway in Frankfurt am Main.

History

The station was later created as a branch point of the Main-Neckar Railway to Frankfurt- Offenbach Railway. The branching point was on April 1, 1876 in operation. From here resulted in a corresponding curve towards Sachsenhausen and Offenbach. A year later, on 15 May 1877 a railway station was established here, who received a simple reception building. 1885-1888 was caused adjusted accordingly by the construction of the new Frankfurt main freight station and the new Frankfurt Central Station, the northern station entrance of Frankfurt (Main) -Louisa.

In Frankfurt ( Main) -Louisa drove passenger trains to and from Offenbach, which ensured the connection of the passengers on the trains of the Main-Neckar Railway. This service was discontinued in 1895. Now all passengers had to drive across the Central Station in this connection.

After the S -Bahn lines S3 and S4 1997 between Frankfurt (Main) Stresemannallee and Darmstadt main station had been taken into operation, the rest of the passengers in Frankfurt -Louisa was set and removes the corresponding platforms in the sequence.

Origin of the name

The name of Frankfurt -Louisa refers to the immediate west adjacent to the former railway station and today breakpoint parcel Louisa. The Frankfurt banker and diplomat Simon Moritz von Bethmann (1768-1828) had acquired the property at the beginning of the 19th century, and leave it there to create an English landscape garden. Bethmann named the park after his marriage to the Dutch Louise Friederike Boode in 1810 after his wife. The park Louisa remained until the year 1941 in the possession of the Bethmann family. 1954 has been set up in the northeast corner of the site in approximately 200 meters north from the breakpoint of the existing up to the present Waldspielpark Louisa.

Operation
