The Bahnhof Frankfurt- Mainkur lies on the railway line Frankfurt- Hanau between Frankfurt and Hanau main station Ostbahnhof in Fechenheim district of Frankfurt.

Location

The station is located on the northern edge of the historic Fechenheim, on the road to the Mainkur where the Hanauer Landstrasse feeds on a traffic island, which is expanded as a roundabout and on the both the building of the Main Course tubes as well as a stop on the Frankfurt tram is. This assembly is referred to as " Mainkur ". There, the leading north Vilbel road which is immediately west crossed and interrupted from the station of the railway tracks begins. An underpass, however, makes it possible to pass under on foot and by bicycle the railway line.

History

The station with the original station building was built during the construction of the Frankfurt- Hanau Railway in 1847. By the end of the German War of 1866, which ended with the annexation of the Electorate of Hesse and the Free City of Frankfurt by Prussia, the station was Kurhessischer frontier station on the border between the two states with customs clearance. Between 1913 and 1918 the current station building and goods shed emerged.

Infrastructure

The Bahnhof Frankfurt- Mainkur heard of DB Station & Service AG and is guided in its management station. The station building has been closed for years. The main hall is used by the restaurant L' Étoile for art exhibitions. Tickets are available only at the RMV ticket machines.

The station has three tracks on two platforms, which are connected by an underpass. In Frankfurt - Mainkur regional trains and less frequently Regional Express trains RMV line 55 from Frankfurt Hbf via Frankfurt and Frankfurt South East to Hanau Hbf, Aschaffenburg and Würzburg Hbf keep Hbf

Future

As part of the extensive station modernization of Deutsche Bahn (supported by the stimulus package ) and the Bahnhof Frankfurt- Mainkur to be completely renewed and expanded.

Transport

South of the station, the tram and bus stop Mainkur are station at Mainkur gyro during the Hanauer Landstrasse, north of the station, the bus stops Birsteiner road, sea Holzer road and Fulda road, accessible through the pedestrian underpass in the course of Vilbel highway.

The stop Mainkur station is serviced by the tram line 11 and the buses of the lines F -41, 44 ( traffiQ ), 551, 560 ( regional services ) and n64 ( night bus ). North of the railroad tracks is the bus stop Birsteiner road, which is also served by bus line F -41, 44 and 551 as well as by the lines 23 MKK, MKK - MKK - 25 and 28 of the SVM.

On all lines apply as in the station Mainkur -use railway lines, the RMV tickets.

Before and next to the reception building there are several parking lots.
