Frankfurt ( Main ) West Bahnhof is a regional and suburban railway station on the Main- Weser Railway in the west of the city center of Frankfurt am Main ( Bockenheim ), close to the Messe Frankfurt and the campus Bockenheim the Johann -Wolfgang- Goethe- University of Frankfurt am Main.

History

The station was built in 1848 as Bock Home Station, on the Main - Weser Railway (Frankfurt -Kassel). The then independent town Bock home was on kurhessischem territory until 1866. Today's Train Station

The historic station building was destroyed in World War II during the air raids on Frankfurt am Main. To replace a contemporary purpose built two storey was built in 1961.
