Franklin Bittencourt

Franklin Spencer Miguel Bittencourt, called Franklin Bittencourt or only Franklin ( born February 24, 1969 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil ) is a former Brazilian football player and current coach.

Playing career

Franklin Bittencourt first played at Bragantino São Paulo. Then he went to Fluminense Rio de Janeiro, then to VfB Leipzig. In 1998 he joined Energie Cottbus, where he played until the 2003/04 season. His career was Franklin in the national league at SV Victoria Seelow and the SV Blau-Gelb Laubendorf finish. He has 22 Bundesliga appearances for VfB Leipzig denied (1 goal ) and another 39 Bundesliga games for Energie Cottbus (5 goals). In 2010, he was still with the SG Sielow in Altliga Ü35/Kreisliga active, for whom he played four games in which he scored four goals.

Coaching career

Since the season 2005/ 06 Franklin worked for Energie Cottbus as a talent scout and assistant coach of the second team. For the 2006/07 season he was promoted to assistant coach of the first team and retained this position until the end of the season 2008/09. After a year without coaching job Franklin was appointed assistant coach of the U-17 team.

Franklin wore during his time at Energie Cottbus will wear the number 21 in Cottbus He owns a restaurant called " Dreyer ". His son Leonardo played until the 2011/12 season also for Energie Cottbus and then moved to Borussia Dortmund. Since 2013 is "Leo" at Hannover 96 under contract.
