Franklin Chacón

Franklin Raúl Chacón Colmenares (born 12 February 1979) is a Venezuelan road cyclist.

Franklin Chacón won in 2000 for the first time a stage of the Vuelta al Táchira. The next year he was at the Pan Championship third in the road race in the U23 class. In 2002 he won a stage of the Vuelta a Bramon and at the Vuelta al Táchira and he was Venezuelan national time trial champion. In the Pan Championship 2003 in Santo Domingo Chacón was third in the time trial. In the 2005 season he won a stage at the Vuelta Ciclista Aragua and the team time trial at the Vuelta a Venezuela. In 2006 he was again successful on a section of the Vuelta al Táchira. The next year Chacón won a stage and the overall at the Vuetla al Estado Yaracuy. The Juegos del Alba, he won the time trial at the Pan Championships and he was on the track second in the team pursuit. He also won a stage of the Vuelta al Estado Portuguesa. 2008 Chacón first overall in the Vuelta a Yacambu Lara, he won a stage in the Clasico Virgen de la Consolation de Táchira and at the Vuelta a Venezuela. In the Vuelta al Táchira 2009 he was on the 4th and 5th stage, the yellow jersey of the overall leader.
