Franklin-Gordon-Wild-Rivers-Nationalpark

The Franklin - Gordon Wild Rivers National Park (English: Franklin - Gordon Wild Rivers National Park ) is a national park on the island belonging to Australia Tasmania.

General

His name is based on the two main rivers within the park, the Franklin River and the Gordon River. The Wild Rivers National Park emerged from the previous Frenchmans Cap National Park, which had its limits along the Franklin River. Frenchmans Cap can be seen from far away, the best from the west and north of the park. The dispute over the Franklin Dam, which should be part of a major project to supply power from hydropower in Tasmania, contributed to the expulsion of the territory in at its current size. Location

The park is located approximately 117 kilometers west of Hobart, between the central highlands and the west coast of Tasmania, in the very heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Tasmanian wilderness. There is only one road that runs through the park, the Lyell Highway. This winds up in 56 kilometers in length through the park and makes it easily accessible.

History

The National Park contains many sites that point to the early settlement by Aborigines and even today are still of great spiritual significance to the Aboriginal community. The original inhabitants of Tasmania, who lived isolated from the inhabitants of the land for a long time, developed a deviating of this culture; through the use of fire they brought profound changes in vegetation communities.

Wildlife
