Frans Adelaar

Frans Adelaar ( born December 5, 1960 in Utrecht, Netherlands) is a Dutch former football player and current coach.

Career

Playing career

Adelaar began playing football at VV IJsselstein. As a professional Adelaar only played at FC Utrecht, with which in 1985 he won the KNVB Cup, and later at the amateur clubs and HVV Hollandia DOVO. In 13 years at Utrecht, he went to 179 games and 21 goals.

Coaching career

His coaching career began in 1995 when Adelaar amateur club GVVV in Veenendaal. From 2000 to 2002 he coached the first time a professional team of FC Utrecht. After a brief interlude in 2002 at the Greek club Akratitos Ano Liosia he returned to the Netherlands in 2003 and coached until 2006 De Graafschap and ADO Den Haag. For the season 2008/ 09 he was introduced as the new coach of the Erstligaaufsteiger FC Volendam, with whom he missed the stated goal for the season " league " and descended the Jupiler League. Adelaar occurred in April 2012 to the Office of the coach at the Slovakian first division MŠK Žilina, but was discharged in January 2013. In March 2014 he took over temporarily until the end of the season as coach at the amateur club VV IJsselmeervogels, who competes in the top echelon.
