Frans Koppelaar

Frans Thomas Koppelaar ( born April 23, 1943 in The Hague) is a Dutch painter.

His landscape paintings and Amsterdam cityscapes call forth memories of the tradition of the Hague School, George Hendrik Breitner, Isaac Israels and Jacob Maris. Koppelaar 's realistic pictures were taken simultaneously with a figurative movement in the Dutch contemporary painting, which in response to the limited concept art and emerged in the 1990s to inflated theories of art of this period. Over the years, his style evolved towards a simpler, more direct approach. Since 1984 he identified himself with any art movement more.
