František Rint

František Rint (* in the 19th century in Česká Skalice, district Náchod, Hradec Králové Region of Bohemia ) was a Czech woodcarver and carpenter in the 19th century.

Work

In 1870 he was commissioned by the Prince of Schwarzenberg to organize the human bones that were kept in the Sedlec Ossuary. The ossuary is located in the basement of the Church of All Saints in Sedlec ( Cz: Sedlec ), a suburb of Kutná Hora ( Cz: Kutná Hora ) in Bohemia. Rint related the bones, among other things, to create very macabre sculptures including four chandeliers and a coat of arms of the Schwarzenberg family, who are still to be seen in the ossuary today.

Another example is a large, covered with a pony fur table, which still shows in each case a skull in the four created from Damhirschgehörnen legs. This piece was offered in 2010 at the Cologne Trade Fair Cologne Fine Arts & Antiques.
