František Tůma

František Ignác Tůma (Franz Ignaz Anton Seraf Tuma, born October 2, 1704 Adlerkosteletz; † January 30, 1774 in Vienna) was a Czech composer.

Tůma was, with whom he went to his training in Prague viol player at the court of Count Franz Ferdinand Kinsky to 1727 as Kapellmeister to Vienna. In 1742, he was the bandmaster of the Dowager Empress Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick- Wolfenbüttel. After her death in 1750 he lived on his pension. In 1768 he entered the Premonstratensian monastery of Geras.

He composed more than fifty fairs, a Stabat mater, and numerous sonatas, partitas and symphonies.
