Franz Benque

Franz Benque ( born March 12, 1841 in Ludwigslust, † March 30, 1921 in Villach; Complete name: Friedrich Heinrich Franz Benque ) was a photographer.

Life

Grew up in Ludwig Lust, where his father Christian Benque was for some years a teacher at the Grand Ducal Taubstummenanstalt. Franz Benque learned in C. Hersen in Güstrow i M. simple "photo art " and went to Trieste in 1864 to open a studio with the watchmaker G. Sebastianutti.

1856 was the father of Christian Benque a call to the Taubstummenanstalt to Lübeck. Since Franz Benque meantime had geehelicht the stepdaughter of his partner G. Sebastianutti and there was probably came to family tensions, he let his father in September 1869 a contract with the Lübeck photographer Conrad Kindermann negotiate for the to be founded Atelier Benque & Kindermann in Hamburg.

1869 sparked Franz Benque the partnership in Trieste and came to Hamburg, but left a year later, the joint business in the Great bleaching 30 and went to Brazil. There he formed a partnership with Albert Henschel (1827-1882), who came from a family renowned engraver and worked for several years previously emigrated from Berlin; they operated under the name Henschel & Benque. In 1878 he returned to Trieste, and renewed the partnership Sebastianutti & Benque.

In the history of Hamburg photographer 's name Benque arises another time. From 1886 to 1889 existed in Hamburg Neuer Wall, a studio Benque. It was operated by a cousin of Franz Benque with the same name. His full first name was Franz Wilhelm born in 1857 while his father Wilhelm Benque as a landscape architect in New York had been active. In 1912, he was killed under unknown circumstances.
