Franz Humer

Franz Humer Bernhard ( born July 1, 1946 in Salzburg) is an Austrian- Swiss Manager. He was from 1998 to 2008, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from 2001 to March 2014 partly concurrently Chairman of the Board of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche.

Life

Franz B. Humer has studied and received his doctorate in law Innsbruck. After working as a manager in various countries at Schering -Plough and Glaxo in 1995 he became a director of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Hoffmann -La Roche and Head of the Pharmaceuticals Division. In 1996 he became Chief Operating Officer ( COO) from 1998 to 2008 he was Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) and 2001 ( in succession to Fritz Gerber ) in March 2014 temporarily at the same time in a double mandate Chairman of the Board. 2008 Severin Schwan CEO and Humer was focused on his chairmanship. In March 2014 Humer did not occur for re-election to the Board at; followed him Christoph Franz Humer has worked as a consultant for Roche.

Humer is married, has children and lives in Canton Zurich Erlenbach.
