Franz-Josef Steininger

Franz- Josef " Pino" Steininger ( born July 9, 1960) is a former German football player.

Career

Steininger has a long career as a footballer behind and kicked a total of 13 years as a professional for MSV Duisburg in the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga. After winning the German A Youth Championship in 1978 with the MSV he first played one year in the neighbors Hamborn 07 in the Federation League Lower Rhine. But in 1979 he signed for the " Zebras " a license contract player and remained until 1986 at the Westender road.

He then worked at Union Solingen and 1.FC Saarbrücken, before he again for MSV Duisburg laced football boots 1989-1995. The MSV 1991 and 1993 he celebrated each promotion to the Bundesliga. Later he kicked four years at Meidericher amateurs and let his career fade away in 2000 at the District division Hertha Hamborn. Steininger completed a total of 129 games (8 goals) in the Bundesliga and 339 games ( 33 goals) in the 2nd Bundesliga.

After his playing career Franz -Josef Steininger led a snack bar in Duisburg.

In summer 2009, Steininger took over the coaching job at the district division club VfB Lohberg.
