Franz Nietlispach

Franz Nietlispach ( born April 2, 1958 in Muri ) is a Swiss athletes and politicians.

Life

Nietlispach is a paraplegic since a fall from a cherry tree at the age of 15 years. He goes racing wheelchair and hand cycle and presented in 2001 with 2 minutes 56.61 seconds over 1500 meters the record as the fastest wheelchair riders in the world at. His successes include 23 Paralympic medals - including 14 gold medals - and 20 world titles. 1988, 1990, 1991 and 1994, he was elected to the Swiss Disabled Athlete of the Year. In the years 1995 and 1997 to 2000, he won the Boston Marathon wheelchair rating of each.

Nietlispach belonged from 2001 to 2005 as a Member of the FDP to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau. In 2003 he ran for the FDP in the national election and came up with fourth place.

Nietlispach is married, has two children and lives in Zeiningen. He works as a sports presenter at Novartis.
