Franz Oberacher

Franz " dust cloud" Oberacher ( born March 24, 1954 in Natters ) is a retired Austrian football player. The striker was part of the squad of the Austrian national team at the World Cup in Argentina in 1978 and was several times Austrian champion and cup winner.

Oberacher began his football career with the WSG Swarovski Wattens which was merged with Wacker Innsbruck to SSW Innsbruck. with Innsbruck 1975 and 1977 he was Austrian champion. 1975, 1978 and 1979, he took with the Innsbruck OFB Cup. For Innsbruck, he played 1973-1979 147 games. In 1979 he moved to Germany in the 2nd Bundesliga for 1.FC Nürnberg with which he ascended into the football league in 1980. For the club he came in 2nd Bundesliga to 31 inserts and 12 goals and in the 1st Bundesliga to 25 inserts and 9 gates. Overall, he scored 21 goals in 56 games.

In 1981 he went to the Netherlands for AZ Alkmaar, where he scored 5 goals in the Eredivisie in 26 games. With Alkmaar he was in 1982 by Dutch masters. In his second season in Alkmaar he was rarely used which is why he is still in the season 1982/83 returned to Austria where he played from then on for Austria Klagenfurt. For the Carinthian he came in 5 Seasons on 21 goals in 102 games. In 1987 he went to SV Natters for whom he played one season. After that he played in the 1988/89 season yet for Rapid Lienz and in the 1989/90 season for the SV Axams.

For the OFB selection, he played eight matches. Since debut was on April 28, 1976 by a 1-0 victory in Vienna against the Swedish national team. His only goal for the national team, he scored on the 29th January 1979 during a friendly match against Israel. His last international game he played on 17 April 1985, the 0:3 defeat in the World Cup qualifier against the Hungarian national football team in Vienna.
