Franz Pecháček

Franz Xaver Pecháček ( born July 4, 1793 in Vienna, † September 15, 1840 in Karlsruhe ) was an Austro- German violin virtuoso and composer of Czech origin.

Life

Franz Pecháček was trained by his father František Martin Pecháček and by Ignaz Emanuel Aloys Förster and Schuppanzigh. From 1809 to 1822 he was a violinist at the Theater an der Wien. After that, he was concertmaster of the court orchestra in Stuttgart, in 1826 the Grand Ducal Baden Karlsruhe court orchestra.

Pecháček was a friend in Vienna with Ludwig van Beethoven and played several times whose works.

Besides Polonaises, variations, rondo and potpourris for violin and orchestra he composed two string quartets and an Adagio et Polonaise for Clarinet and Orchestra.
