Franz Vogler

Franz Vogler ( born August 15, 1944 in Oberstdorf ) is a former German ski racer.

Vogler celebrated the biggest success of his career at the Alpine World Ski Championships 1966 in Portillo when he was able to win the age of 21 in the downhill behind the two Frenchman Jean- Claude Killy and Léo Lacroix the bronze medal.

Two years later at the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble, he managed not to acknowledge this success, and he finished only 15th place in the downhill. 1969 and 1971 won the title of German Champion Vogler in the downhill. At the Olympic Winter Games Sapporo in 1972 he was only 24

Two weeks after the Olympics, he then succeeded in the U.S. Crystal Mountain is the only World Cup victory of his career.

After the 1971/72 season Vogler retired from competitive sport and worked as an architect in Oslo and Oberstdorf.
