Franz Xaver Eggert

Franz Xaver Eggert ( born November 11, 1802 in Blenheim on the Danube; † October 14, 1876 in Munich) was a German stained glass artists.

Life

Eggert learned in Augsburg decorating painting and attended from 1824, the Art Academy in Munich. In 1829 he was employed by the Royal enamel painting company at which he worked until 1851. Franz Xaver Eggert became self-employed in a time when a great demand for stained glass was available. He worked with Max Ainmiller and Joseph Kirchmair and his workshop delivered leaded windows to England.

In his native town of Blenheim on the Danube, a street is named after him.
