Frassilongo

Gereut ( Mocheno: Garait, Italian: Frassilongo ) is a municipality with 318 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in Fersental in the province of Trento. The population belongs to the majority of heels Taler community, a germanischsprachigen ethnic group, at. The municipality also includes the higher-lying district Eichleit ( Mocheno: Oachlait, Italian: Roveda ).

The origin of the Italian place name is uncertain. It probably derives from " Frasso ", from the Latin " Fraxinus " (Italian frassino ), Ash ago, in combination with " lungo " ( long, tall ). In the ancient German city of Fraschelung was called, which then in Gereut ( = clearing) has been changed.

Picturesque for its architecture and location of the high-altitude group Kamauz is ( Mocheno: Kamaovrunt ).

Gereut borders the municipalities Orsola Terme, Florutz, Roncegno, Vignola - Falesina, Pergine Valsugana Novaledo and Levico Terme.
