Frauke Petry
Frauke Petry ( born June 1, 1975 as Frauke Marquardt in Dresden) is a German chemist, entrepreneur and politician. She is Managing Director of PURinvent System GmbH in Leipzig and was last in 2012 awarded the Federal Cross of Merit. Since 2013, it is one of three speakers of the party alternative for Germany ( AfD ).

Academic and entrepreneurial career
Origin and chemical studies
The daughter of a chemist and an engineer was born in Dresden and grew up in Brandenburg. With her family she moved to the political changes in 1992 in the Westphalian mountain Kamen, where in 1995 she passed his A -levels at the Municipal Gymnasium.
She then studied on a scholarship from the Study Foundation of the German people 1995-1998 Chemistry at the University of Reading (Bachelor of Science ( Honours) ) and then from 1998 to 2000 at the University of Göttingen ( Diploma). During her studies she worked as a student at Schering AG and Bayer AG. In 2004 she was at Georg -Friedrich Kahl and Karen Hirsch -Ernst at Göttingen's Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology with the dissertation characterization of a novel ATP - binding cassette transporter of the ABCA subfamily Dr. rer. nat. ( " Magna cum laude" ) doctorate. After that, she was a research assistant at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology and post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Human Genetics.
From 1998 to 2001 she was a board member of the Young Chemists Forum of the German Chemical Society.
Building a Business
Petry founded in March 2007, the company PURinvent GmbH in Leipzig- Plagwitz that produces a novel polyurethane plastic ( HYDROPUR ) as a tire sealant. The idea went back to her mother, the patentee is. Petry was honored for her innovative business start-up several times, among others with more than 75,000 euros in prize money Darboven IDEA Prize.
In October 2013, it had to file for insolvency for the company. The company was acquired in 2014 by a consortium of investors in Southern Germany and changed their name in PURinvent System GmbH. Furthermore, Petry is the CEO.
Political action
She's country representative of the association for Saxony to support electoral alternative 2013. Since the founding of the alternative for Germany in February 2013, she served as a deputy spokesperson of the party. The first AfD party congress on 14 April 2013, it was voted one of the three speakers in the Federal Executive.
Family and volunteering
Frauke Petry is married Lutheran and a pastor. The couple has four children. She trained as a part-time organist and choir director. Since 2008 she is member of the Leipzig Vocal Ensemble.
It participates in the Saxon Equal Treatment Advisory Committee of the Free State of Saxony.
Political positions
In an interview with the Thuringian newspaper Petry demanded less power for Brussels and lamented a loss of democracy in Europe. In the immigration policy Petry called for " strict rules" at the same time they supported the request political asylum. Non-European immigrants should receive social benefits from those EU countries through which they enter. Critically she remarked in regard to the possibilities of fighting crime by the Schengen Agreement.
