Frazil ice

Frazil Ice (English Frazil ice ) is a collection of loose, randomly oriented needle -shaped ice crystals in liquid water. It is present in the form of slush and is displayed on the surface of the water seen from a little oily. It forms sporadically in open, turbulent, supercooled water, which means that it normally forms in rivers, lakes and oceans on a clear night in the cold and air temperatures below -6 ° C.

Frazil Ice is the first stage of the formation of sea ice.
