Freak Power

Freak Power was a British band playing a mix of acid jazz with funk, soul and trip hop. The band was founded by Norman Cook, who later became known as Fatboy Slim, Ashley Slater, who was in the 1980s with the jazz big band Loose Tubes trombonist, and four other musicians. In 1997, the band was dissolved.

Most of the songs were written by Norman Cook, Ashley Slater, or both together.

The Single Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out was a minor hit in the UK charts when it was first released in 1993. After the song was produced in the TV commercial taxi the Levi's jeans advertising, it gained international prominence. In the Swiss single charts, it reached # 36 in the Netherlands and number 23 in New Zealand No. 17

The band released two albums: Drive Thru Booty in 1994 with the hits of Rush and Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out, whose title is a pun of the saying "on the turn, tune in, drop out " by Timothy Leary, and More Of Everything For Everybody in 1996, the song was # 6 played in the movie code 46.
