Life
From a young age began Ray, in directing at various films, working in between but always as an actor, Visual effects specialist etc.
In addition to his work as a director, he tried his hand at wrestling, but under the name "Fabulous" Freddie Valentine and ran a long time a freak show.
Ray specializes in extremely cheap direct-to- video productions, mostly in the horror field. For the fans Ray is especially known for his trash- movies. Actor, with whom he has worked several times include Brinke Stevens and Michael Berryman ( The Hills Have Eyes ) and Michael Dudikoff. His filmography includes not only horror and action movies too numerous adult films. In the field of adult films he usually uses the pseudonym Nicholas Medina.
In 1986 he founded the company American Independent Productions to produce and market his own movies.
In November 1991 he published a book entitled "The New Poverty Row: Independent Filmmakers as Distributors", in which he describes the problems of independent filmmakers in the U.S. and responds to six independent production companies.
Since 1997, he is married to Kimberly A. Ray. This is mainly active as a producer of his films. His 1979 born son Christopher Ray is also in the movie business operates, among others, as an actor and director.
His is the distribution company Retro Media Entertainment, brings out both his own films and old cult classic on DVD.
