In 1898, Jane founded the Jane's Information Group. The up to now appearing in this publishing reference books " All the World 's Fighting Ships" apply to warships and " All the World 's Air -ships " for aircraft now as reference works.
Jane was also active in politics, and a strong opponent of the Liberals. As 1910, the left - liberal candidate Edward Hemmerde was nominated for election, Jane made the decision to disrupt the election campaign. At the station he received Winston Churchill, who wanted to keep to support Hemmerdes a speech. Instead Churchill agreed to go to the venue, he brought him to the country, which Churchill was prevented from holding his speech.
