Fred Van Oystaeyen

Freddy Van Oystaeyen, Fred Van Oystaeyen, ( b. 1947 in Antwerp) is a Belgian mathematician who deals with algebra.

Van Oystaeyen in 1972 at the Free University of Amsterdam with Willem Kuijk PhD ( Specialization of fields ). He is at the University of Antwerp, where he is now an emeritus professor since 1975.

He is considered one of the pioneers in noncommutative algebraic geometry.

Among his doctoral students include Michel Van den Bergh and Alain Verschoren.
