Freddie Wolff

Freddie Wolff, actually Frederick Ferdinand Wolff, ( born October 13, 1910 in Hong Kong, † January 26, 1988 in London) was a British sprinter and Olympic gold medalist.

In 1933 he won at the British Championships over 440 y ( 49.0 s ). He also was a member of the British team in the 4 x 400 - meter relay, which took at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin in the cast Wolff, Godfrey Rampling, Bill Roberts and Godfrey Brown and 3:09,0 min, the won gold medal for the teams from the U.S. and Germany. In the individual race over 400 meters, it was not at the start.

1937 Wolff was on the top sports and devoted himself to the family Rudolf Wolff & Co., a leading metal trader. During World War II he served in the British Army and rose to captain. From 1970 to 1977, Wolff chairman of the London Metal Exchange. In 1975 he was awarded the CBE.
