Freddy Deeb

Kassem "Freddy" Deeb ( born November 27, 1955 in Beirut, Lebanon) is a professional American poker players.

Before his playing career

Deeb was in 1975 when the Lebanese Civil War broke out, with 19 years in the United States. He attended Utah State University and lost contact with his parents, who supported him financially in his studies. He could not find work because he lived only on a student visa in the States, so he started playing.

He was forced to cancel his studies, although he was just about to make his degree in mechanical engineering.

Poker

In the World Series of Poker 1996 he won a bracelet in a $ 5,000 Deuce to Seven Triple Draw tournament and received $ 146,250. He was able to place two well also at Main Event: In 1995, he was 17 and in 2003 he finished in 13th place.

He won Poker Tour also at a tournament of the World. It was the Ultimate Poker Classic, where he won the top prize of $ 1,000,000.

At the 2007 WSOP Freddy Deeb won the $ 50,000 HORSE tournament and a cash prize of 2,276,832 U.S. dollars. He won against the Frenchman Bruno Fitoussi in heads up and thus crowned his career.

During the 2005 WSOP, he has told in an interview with ESPN that he would like to finish his degree in mechanical engineering.

He lives in Las Vegas and has four children.
