Frédéric Chassot

Frédéric Chassot ( born March 31, 1969 in Montagny la Ville) is a former Swiss football player.

During this time, Romand developed a crowd favorite and a cult figure. Highlights of his career were his two goals in the UEFA Cup against Celtic Glasgow, the ones knockout participation enabled the FC Zurich for which he played from 1998 to 2002. His positions within the Swiss professional football were: Neuchâtel Xamax, Lausanne Sports, FC Basel, FC Sion, FC Zurich, FC Aarau, YF Juventus (Amateur League, where he ended his active career in the summer of 2003). He is currently assistant coach for FC Sion. Between 2004 and 2007 he served as an assistant coach and then was head of sport and youth coach.

In resigning, he could look back on 16 appearances in the Swiss national football team and 445 games in the highest Swiss football leagues. For the FC Zurich he had 107 missions and scored 22 goals and conceding 8 yellow cards ( mostly for complain - he was known for his temper ).

In October 2008 Chassot became the new sporting director of FC Sion after they had Paolo Urfer terminated. After he took a break in 2013 to gain coaching licenses, he was assistant coach from FC Sion on the side of Raimondo Ponte.
