Frederician Rococo

Frederician Rococo Rococo is a form that originated in Prussia during the reign of Frederick the Great ( 1740-1786 ). The style combines influences from France and the Netherlands. Its most important representative was the architect Georg Wenceslaus von Knobelsdorff. Furthermore, the painter Antoine Pesne be mentioned, but also King Frederick himself took effect on Knobelsdorffs designs. Known buildings of the Frederician Rococo Sanssouci Palace, the City Palace (Potsdam) and parts of Charlottenburg Palace.
