Frederick A. Johnson

Frederick Avery Johnson ( born January 2, 1833 in Fort Edward, New York, † July 17, 1893 in Glens Falls, New York ) was an American politician. Between 1883 and 1887 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Frederick Avery Johnson visited community schools and graduated from Glens Falls Academy. He pursued banking and wool shops in New York City. Then he went to Glens Falls banking transactions. He was president of the Village of Glens Falls. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1882 for the 48th Congress of Johnson in the 18th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of John Hammond on March 4, 1883. In 1884 he was a candidate in the 21st electoral district of New York for the 49th Congress. After a successful election, he resigned on March 4, 1885 to succeed George W. Ray. Since he gave up for reelection in 1886, he retired after March 3, 1887 from the Congress.

On July 17, 1893, he died in Glens Falls in Warren County and was buried at the Bay Street Cemetery.
