Frederick I, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach

Frederick V of Brandenburg, called " the Elder " ( born May 8, 1460 Ansbach, † April 4, 1536 ibid.) Was Margrave of Brandenburg -Ansbach from 1486 to 1515 and Margrave of Brandenburg- Kulmbach, 1495-1515 He was Moreover, the Brandenburg line at the Hohenzollern.

Life

Friedrich was the second son of the Elector of Brandenburg Albrecht Achilles (1414-1486) from his second marriage to Anna (1436-1512), daughter of the Elector Frederick of Saxony. Because of his lavish lifestyle, the resulting debt of the country and its growing in his last years of choleric temperament he was deposed in 1515 by his sons Kasimir and Georg and held captive 13 years. Up to Casimir's death in 1527 he was on the Plass castle and was finally brought to his desire of Georg to Ansbach, where he died in 1536.

Friedrich married on February 14, 1479 in Frankfurt an der Oder Princess Sophia of Poland ( 1464-1512 ), daughter of King Casimir IV of Poland, with whom he had the following children:
