Frederick III, Prince of Salm-Kyrburg

Friedrich III. Johann Otto Franz Christian Philipp, Prince of Salm- Kyrburg ( May 3, 1745 in Henri- Chapelle, Duchy of Limburg, † July 23, 1794 in Paris), the eldest son of Philip Joseph of Salm- Kyrburg was ( 1709-1779 ) and Maria Theresia, born of horn. Moritz zu Salm - Kyrburg (1761-1813) was his brother, Zephyrine Amalie of Salm- Kyrburg (1760-1841) his sister. From 1783 his deceased mother Friedrich inherited the family fortune of Horn. He built the Hôtel de Salm.

Life

In the age of Patriotten he negotiated with the Emperor Joseph II on the abolition of border protection contracts. As commander of the Rhine - Salm Legion defended the Republic. In 1787 he led his army to Utrecht; remembered as Friedrich Wilhelm II ( Prussia), Salm gave the city without a fight and fled with his regiment after Weesp.

Shortly after Alexandre de Beauharnais, he died on July 23, 1794 by the guillotine, in the late stage of the Reign of Terror Maximilien de Robespierre. The proximity to the grouping of Dantonists Salm was undoing.

Marriage and issue

With Jane Frances de Hohenzollern -Sigmaringen ( Wedding 1781) he had four children:
