Frederick Stephani

Frederick Stephani ( born June 13, 1903 as Frederick ' Fritz ' Stephani in Bonn, † October 31, 1962 in Los Angeles, California ) was a native of Germany American writer, screenwriter, film director and producer, who once for an Oscar was nominated for best original story.

Life

Fritz Stephani grew up in, inter alia, in Cologne and decided at the age of 20 years to emigrate. On November 11, 1923, he landed, coming from Rotterdam, in New York City. In 1926 he settled in Los Angeles down, and on May 8, 1933 Stephanie asked about the U.S. citizenship, which was granted to him a few years later.

Stephani, the 1934 novel My Candle Burns ... published, began his career in the film industry in Hollywood in 1934 as a screenwriter for the staged by Frank Tuttle comedy film All the King 's Horses with Carl Brisson, Mary Ellis and Edward Everett Horton in the lead roles. He then wrote until his death in the scripts and templates for 23 films and directed beyond between 1936 and his death in eleven movies and episodes of television series as a director. In addition, he was responsible 1937-1949 at fifteen film as a producer.

At the Academy Awards in 1948 Lewis was nominated along with Herbert Clyde Lewis for the Oscar for best original story, and indeed for diue romantic comedy film life as a millionaire ( It Happened on Fifth Avenue, 1947) by Roy Del Ruth with Don DeFore, Ann Harding and Charles Ruggles.
