Frederick William, Prince of Hohenzollern-Hechingen

Friedrich Wilhelm of Hohenzollern- Hechingen ( born September 20, 1663 Hechingen, † November 14, 1735 in Hechingen ) was the fourth prince of Hohenzollern- Hechingen and imperial field marshal lieutenant.

Life

Frederick William was the eldest son of the Prince of Hohenzollern- Hechingen Philipp (1616-1671) from his marriage to Marie Sidonie (1635-1686), daughter of Margrave Hermann of Baden- Fortunat Rodemachern. He succeeded his father as Prince still a minor, so his mother first took over the guardianship. This sent the prince to Baden, where he was further educated. He completed his military training from increasingly later in Vienna. The end of 1681 he took the reins of the government in Hohenzollern - Hechingen.

Friedrich Wilhelm was in the imperial service Generalfeldmarschalleutnant and opened his own cuirassiers with his name. In 1682 he was involved in the suppression of a popular uprising in Hungary and took glorious 1692 at the Battle of Slankamen part. Frederick William was married twice. He completed his first marriage on January 22, 1687 in Vienna with Maria Ludovica Leopoldina ( 1666-1709 ), daughter of Count Georg Ludwig von Sinzendorf, with whom he had the following children:

His second wife was on September 7, 1710 in Hechingen Baroness Magdalena Maximiliane of Lützau ( 1690-1755 ), the. , Emperor Charles VI was raised as " Countess von Homburg " as an equal. From this marriage he had two children:
