Fredric M. Frank

Fredric M. Frank ( born July 9, 1911 in New York City, New York as Fredric Maurice Frank, † May 9, 1977 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American screenwriter who in 1953 won an Academy Award for best original story.

Life

Frank began his career as a screenwriter in the Hollywood film industry in 1940 with the film Escape to Glory and wrote until 1965 the scripts and templates for ten films and television series.

At the Academy Awards in 1953 he won together with Theodore St. John, Frank Cavett the Oscar for best original story for The Greatest Show on Earth (1952 ) by Cecil B. DeMille with Betty Hutton, Cornel Wilde, and Charlton Heston in the lead roles.

Frank's daughter, the writer Katherine Ashe.
