Fredrik Pettersson

Fredrik Pettersson ( born June 10, 1987 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Lugano.

Career

Fredrik Pettersson started his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Frölunda HC, with the U18 Junior he 2003, 2004 and 2005 won the championship of the U18 Junior Allsvenskan, as well as with the U20 juniors he parallel in the season 2004/ 05 champions of the U20 Junior SuperElit was. Then the winger in the NHL Entry Draft, was selected in the fifth round as a total 157 players from the Edmonton Oilers in 2005, for which he, however, never played. Instead, he ran from 2005 to 2007 for the Calgary Hitmen in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League on.

From 2007 to 2010 Pettersson played for his hometown club Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elitserien. There he impressed with 44 goals and 46 Assists in 184 games, so he was taken on 15 June 2010 as a free agent by the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League contract. For the 2010/11 season the Swede Atlanta's farm team, the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, was allocated.

In July 2011, Pettersson returned again back to Frölunda HC, with whom he signed a contract for four years. A year later, this contract was terminated and Petterson moved to HK Donbass Donetsk, for which he was active in the KHL to October 2013. In the fall of 2013 he moved to Lugano in Switzerland.

Internationally

For Sweden, Pettersson took at junior level at the U18 Junior World Championship 2005, where he finished in third place with his team, as well as the U20 World Junior Championships in 2006 and 2007 in part. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the 2010 World Cup in Germany, where he won the bronze medal with Sweden. He also denied numerous test games for various Swedish junior national teams and the Men's National Team.

At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was again part of the national team and won the gold medal with this.
