Freedom Award
The Freedom Award ( Freedom Prize ) is awarded by the International Rescue Committee for extraordinary contributions to the needs of refugees and freedom.
The first Freedom Award 1957 awarded to Willy Brandt. Since then, there have been 45 winners, including 23 Americans; most recipients are politicians.
Most recently, he was awarded in 2008, to Kofi Annan.
