Freedom of movement

The establishment is part of the fundamental freedom of movement of persons within the European Union. EU citizens have the right to settle in any Member State of the European Union. Regulated is the freedom in Article 49 to Article 55 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union ( TFEU). This freedom there since 1957 by the Treaty establishing the European Community.

This law applies to natural persons and legal persons (eg companies), if they have been formed under the law of a Member State and having its registered head office is also located in a Member State.

In Switzerland, the freedom corresponds to the usual notion of freedom of movement in Germany. See Fundamental Rights ( Switzerland ).
